4th Annual Meri Goyette Arts Award Luncheon and Auction

We at City Arts Nashua want to thank everyone involved in the 4th Annual Meri Goyette Arts Award Champagne luncheon – the sponsors, advertisers, entertainers, generous donors of both silent and live auction items, the many volunteers and all who attended for celebrating Nashua’s vibrant arts community with us and the Nashua Arts Commission.
Congratulations to John Weidman, co-founder and director of the Nashua International Sculpture Symposium, Eric Brand of P & L Landscaping, and Saint Joseph Hospital – all honored for their support of the arts at the event.

The Meri Goyette Arts Award Luncheon provides the Greater Nashua arts community and art lovers with an annual gala to Celebrate the Arts, raise funds to help support local arts projects, programs and promotion, recognize key arts supporters, and be entertained by local and state talent. The fun-filled event includes:

Three Course Luncheon with Entertainment: Each year the Meri Goyette Arts Award Champagne Luncheon and Auction features three of the best acts in the Nashua area, to keep you entertained while you enjoy your three-course lunch and to showcase our local talent.
Jake Pietroniro is a violist and New Hampshire native. He began his studies at age 9, participating in ensembles like the Keene Chamber Orchestra and the Boston Youth Symphony during his high school years. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he studied with Helen Callus, graduating with magna cum laude academic honors and a distinction in his Bachelor of Arts degree. In addition to viola performance, Jake is fascinated with the use of metaphor in pedagogy, and has published a paper on the benefits of its use. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in viola performance on scholarship at The Hartt School, where his chamber group recently won 1st prize in the annual Hartt Chamber Music Competition.
The McGonagle School of Irish Dance was founded in 1993 by Brenda Hamilton Coleman T.C.R.G. The school is registered with An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha and offer classes in traditional Irish dance to children and adults. The school hosts over 100 dancers who are like family that not only share a love for Irish dance and culture but are prepared for local and national competitions as well as for shows. One of the school success storied is Ashlyn Rockwell who reach the highest level of competitive dance, national competition. Ashlyn was a student with the McGonagle School for 12 years and is now a full-time teacher. Ashlyn started the team program for the school in 2012 and has be instrumental in growing it to what you will experience at the luncheon.
Tajoura Davis is an actor, singer/songwriter and director. Since moving to NH in 1994, she has worked with several community and professional theatre groups on stage and behind the scenes, including Nashua Theatre Guild, ActorSingers, Murder & Mystery Productions, and Yellow Taxi Productions. She brings 20+ years of training and experience on and off the stage and two major events in the Nashua area in her list of accomplishments, organizing participation in Suzan Lori-Parks' 365 Days/365 Plays for Yellow Taxi Productions and writing/producing the 150 Anniversary celebration for The Nashua Telegraph. Carpe Diem! At the luncheon, she will combine her talent to give a presentation and performance on the art of storytelling through music.
