City Arts Nashua Presents
11th Annual ArtWalk Weekend 2015
September 11 - 12 - 13
ArtWalk Weekend 2015 is the Place To Be
ArtWalk is Here!
September 11 - 12 - 13 is the 11th Annual ArtWalk Weekend, and here in Nashua we celebrate the arts in style. You will want to be in downtown Nashua that weekend and nowhere else.
The weekend starts on Friday with the third annual ArtWalk Fancy Friday Fundraiser, a Nashua tradition where you can dress up, go out, and get down, with special offers at participating restaurants and bars. The $10 price of a wrist band supports arts programs, projects and publicity by City Arts Nashua.
Around 100 local and area artists will be exhibiting and selling their work on Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm, and on Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. ArtWalk locations include 30 Temple Street, the Nashua Public Library, Le Parc de Notre Renaissance Francaise off of Water Street, the Picker Building in the nearby Millyard, and various venues downtown. Learn about the Artists locations, read their Statements, and see what they are offering – fine art, crafts, quilts, jewelry, 3-D art and so much more. We urge you to shop local this year for all your holiday gifts.
ArtWalk’s opening ceremony, hosted by City Arts Nashua’s president Kathy Hersh, is planned for 12 Noon at the 1st floor entrance of 30 Temple Street, headquarters for ArtWalk. Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau and Ginnie Lupi, Director of the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, will be speaking at the opening. Local artist Eric Escobar will again create his one-of-a-kind spray paint banner for Art Walk 2015, completing it at the opening ceremony. City Arts Nashua will have an information table at that location with plenty of program/maps.
Downtown will be filled with non-stop Entertainment/Events during both days of ArtWalk. There’s plenty to do in between shopping for your holiday gifts. We have partnered with the Gate City Charter School for the Arts, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua, and the Nashua Public Library for expanded children’s activities at the library, next to 30 Temple Street.
Coinciding with Art Walk, on Sunday the second annual Downtown Art Fest, the annal fund raiser for Positive Street Art, will take place in Le Parc de Notre Renaissance Francaise. The highlight of the event will be the final competition of their Live Art Battle Series.
With so much to do, make sure you plan either lunch or dinner, or both in one of downtown Nashua’s many fine restaurants. The ArtWalk Program/Map will be available at 30 Temple Street, the Nashua Public Library, the Picker Building, and downtown venues and restaurants. Be sure to pick one up so you can plan your weekend in advance. Plenty of free parking in downtown Nashua is available on both Saturday and Sunday.
We want to thank our wonderful sponsors for helping make the 11th Annual ArtWalk a weekend you won’t want to miss: our presenting sponsor, R.J. Finlay/30 Temple Street, our media sponsor, the Nashua Telegraph, and our supporting sponsors, BAE Systems, the Nashua Arts Commission, the Nashua Chamber of Commerce, and Great American Downtown.
