ArtWalk Weekend 2015 is the Place To Be

ArtWalk Weekend 2015 kicks off on Friday evening, September 11, with the third annual ArtWalk Fancy Friday. 

Fancy Friday is a Downtown Nashua tradition designed for fanciness, fun and fundraising. It is a chance to get dressed up and go out on the town with friends and other like-minded people, all for a good cause.

There is a beginning and an end location to the restaurant/pub tour, and you can pick where and when to enjoy the benefits of the other locations in between. Dress is formal wear, which you can read as fancy (or not) as you wish to be, with a personal choice of your own adventure twist.

It is a great opportunity to look good and be seen out and about in Nashua’s Historic Downtown.

Food and drink discounts are available throughout the night at all participating locations for participants wearing the Fancy Friday wristband. They include Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant, Fody’s Tavern, Riverwalk Café and Music Bar, San Francisco Kitchen, Agave Azul and The Thirsty Turtle.

The fun begins at Margarita’s where participants can purchase the Fancy Friday wristbands from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. The end location for the pub tour is The Thirsty Turtle where Fancy participants can regroup for live music from 10 pm to closing.

Free portraits by Studio Mark Emile that can be downloaded are available to participants in their fancy attire at the fancy backdrop of the Hunt Memorial Building on Main Street from 7:00 to 9:30 pm.

Started in 2011, Fancy Friday events have been attended by over 1,000 people and have raised money for over a dozen local causes. Proceeds from this year’s ArtWalk Fancy Friday benefit the Merrimack Valley Flute Choir, in memory of Bob Hogan.

Bob enjoyed Fancy Friday events, attending with his wife and long-time City Arts Nashua board member Marjorie Hogan. Both Bob and Marje have been involved with the fluting community since they met.
