ArtWeek Nashua 2020
Saturday October 17th through Sunday, October 25th
City Arts Nashua is committed to promoting and celebrating our creative community in 2020. We have been busy behind the scenes and we present to you “ArtWeek Nashua”. A virtual program that celebrates two City Arts Nashua events – the Meri Goyette Art Awards and the 16th Annual ArtWalk.
If we have learned anything in 2020, it is to think outside of the box. City Arts Nashua believes that through the creation of this new virtual Artwalk event and with a whole week of Arts related programming, we can help our creative community reach an even BIGGER audience. Artists will have the opportunity to continue to share this programming to generate a new audience across the globe. We encourage you to THINK BIG!
ArtWeek Nashua kicks off with virtual Artwalk programming on Saturday, October 17th exploring the art scene in Nashua and meeting local artists and performers in their creative environments. The footage that airs for these segments will be professionally pre-filmed with the artists and performers. ArtWeek will conclude on Sunday, October 25th with the broadcast of our Art Awards, celebrating the three businesses and individuals who are not artists themselves but who have contributed significantly to the Arts in Nashua this year or over a long period.. Our friends at Access Nashua Community Television will help us create and broadcast all programming during ArtWeek.
We are pleased to announce that KidsWalk 2020 will be part of the ArtsWeek Nashua virtual programming. We are looking for our talented up and coming artists and performers to showcase their talents in a short video or photo submission. Did the pandemic prevent your child from their dance recital or theater debut? Did your child blossom with creativity during this crazy time? City Arts Nashua wants to celebrate their accomplishments and creativity!
Keeping up with the KidsWalk tradition, we look forward to creating some fun crafts with your kids - virtually!
What to expect if you are interested in participating as an Artist:
There are two options for Artists - Artist Marketing Level and Artist Promotional Level.
Artist Marketing Level - Investment $25
Interview Process & Scheduling: Access Nashua Community Television will contact you to arrange an on camera interview. Interviews will be arranged in the artist studio or at the Access Nashua Community Television studios. This is a perfect time to showcase your studio or display your art to be recorded as part of your interview. As this format is new to all of us, we anticipate interviews and taping to not last more than 30 minutes. Interview questions will be provided as a guide to help tell your story.
Access Nashua will edit footage and compile one to two segments that will be shown on Access Nashua during ArtWeek. Videos will include information on how interested people can contact you to learn more about your work or purchase pieces directly from you. As with every Artwalk, City Arts Nashua does not charge any commission on these sales.
All interviews will be shared on City Arts Nashua social media channels (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram)
A link directly to your website or Etsy store or other ecommerce provider, together with your video package created by City Arts Nashua and Access Nashua Community Television will be included on the CityArts Nashua Website and social media platforms, including our YouTube channel.
Artists and Performers will be granted permission to share our social media posts as well as the link to their individual YouTube interview.
Artist Promotional Level - Investment $15
City Arts Nashua recognizes that not all artists or performers are comfortable being interviewed on film but would still like to participate in ArtWeek 2020. We want to help promote you! Submit photos of you and your art, contact information including how people may purchase from you, and we will promote you on our website and social media platforms during the event week.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I am an artist. Can I participate in City Arts Nashua’s Artweek without paying the registration fee?
A: Unfortunately, no. ArtWalk and ArtWeek are proprietary branded City Arts Nashua events and the only way to participate in them is through City Arts Nashua. City Arts Nashua spends lots of time and money planning the best possible event(s) and organizing all of the logistics, marketing and promoting the event before, during and after the event, and to the extent necessary, coordinates all permits and insurance of the event. Your registration costs go toward- but do not cover- all of those program expenses. City Arts Nashua has kept the participation fee of Artwalk consistently low through the years to try to make it as easy as possible- financially- for artists to participate but regretfully cannot afford to offer participation in the event for free.
Q. I am a business/restaurant/shop. How can I participate in ArtWeek 2020?
A. There are many opportunities for businesses to participate in ArtWeek. If you would like your business to be featured in connection with a specific artist with whom you have a relationship, please reach out to Wendy Fisher, Event Project Manager, for details on how this could be arranged.
If you would like to donate money in exchange for sponsorship or advertising opportunities, please speak with Wendy Fisher, Event Project Manager.
If you are a business that would like to donate items for our virtual crafting project please reach out to Wendy Fisher, ArtWeek Project Manager.
If you would like to provide a tax deductible donation to City Arts Nashua for KidsWalk, ArtWeek or other programming, donations are gratefully accepted via our website, www.cityartsnashua.org or via US Mail to: City Arts Nashua, PO Box 1603, Nashua, NH 03061. Please indicate “ArtWeek” in the memo of your gift.
Q. Can I register multiple artists or studios with one registration fee?
A. Unfortunately, no. Because the format this year is a virtual event wherein each participating artist or performer will be filmed professionally, each individual person taking advantage of that opportunity must register individually in order to participate.
Q. I have my own video of my work/studio/interview with me about my art. May I submit that for consideration in ArtWeek programming?
A. Yes! We cannot guarantee that we will be able to use your video (it depends on the lead time, the video quality, and other factors) but we will be happy to review it to see if we can use it. We regret that we will not be able to return any items submitted to us, so please submit it virtually via our Dropbox or, if you send us a disc/dvd/thumbdrive please make sure that you do not send us the only copy that you have.
